Database Engine Database Engine Tuning Advisor and the dta utility can be used to tune databases only on the Standard, Enterprise, Developer, and Enterprise Evaluation editions of SQL Server, starting with SQL Server 2000. However, not all tuning options are supported in every edition. These limitations are discussed in detail below.
