Use this procedure to convert a solution or project created in Visual Studio .NET 2002 or Visual Studio .NET 2003 to the project file format that used by Visual Studio 2005.

To upgrade a project created in Visual Studio .NET 2002 or 2003

  1. Run Visual Studio 2005.

  2. On the File menu, point to Open and then click Project/Solution, Web Site, or File, depending on the kind of project you are upgrading.

  3. Select a .vcproj, .vbproj, .csproj, .vjsproj, or .sln file, and then click OK.

If Visual Studio detects that the project or file was created in Visual Studio .NET 2002 or 2003, the Visual Studio Conversion Wizard opens.
