How to: Open Files Attached to Work Items

To help you understand more about a work item, team members attach files to work items. For example, a file might show a screen capture that illustrates a problem, a line of code in a text file, or a product feature's specification.

Required Permissions

To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Readers group or have the View work items in this node permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To open a file attached to work items

  1. Open the work item that has the attached file.

  2. Click the File Attachments tab.

  3. Select the attachment you want to open, and then click Open, or double-click the attachment.


    You might receive a security message or a message that prompts you to choose a program to open the file in.
