You set up your controller and agents by using the installation file located on the Microsoft Visual Studio Team System Test Load Agent installation disk. The file is named setup.exe and is located at the root of the CD.

The controller and agent functionality is available only in the Visual Studio Team System Test Load Agent product, not in Visual Studio Team System. Some important notes about installation are as follows:

  • You cannot install a test controller on a domain controller.

  • You must install the controller before you install any agents.

  • You must be a member of the local Administrators group to perform the installation.

Before you start to install the controller or agents, review the installation guide, which contains information about how to install Visual Studio Team System Test Load Agent. You can open the installation guide by clicking the link on the first page of the setup application, or by opening the file installguide.htm located at the root of the CD.
