How to: Create or Remove Build Qualities

Team Foundation Build lets you set the build quality for individual builds. Also, should there be a need for a new build quality type, you can create one. For more information, see How to: Set Build Quality and Understanding the Team Foundation Build Explorer.

Required Permissions

To perform this procedure, you must have the Team Foundation Server Edit build quality permission set to Allow. For more information, see Team Foundation Server Permissions.

To create or remove a build quality

  1. Select a team project node in Team Explorer, and click Manage Build Qualities on the Build menu.

The Edit Build Qualities dialog box appears.

  2. In Edit Build Qualities dialog box, type a name for the new build quality in the Quality Name text box. Click Add to add the name to the list of build qualities that appears in the pane directly under the Quality Name text box.

The Add button is not active until you type something into the Quality Name text box.

  3. To remove a build quality, select the build quality you want to remove from the list, and then click Remove.

  4. When you are done adding or removing build qualities, click OK. Click Cancel if you want to cancel the changes you made to the build qualities.

The new build qualities appear in the drop-down list for Build Quality in Builds Explorer. For more information about Build Explorer, see Understanding the Team Foundation Build Explorer.
