Print work item results or forms

You can print the results of a query for work items, or you can print the complete data of a single work item or of a group of work items. The complete data of a work item includes all the information that appears in the form for that work item, including the description.

Required permissions

To perform these procedures, you must be a member of the Readers group or have your View work items in this node permission set to Allow. For more information, see Add team members to a team.

To use Team Web Access to print the Query Results list

  1. In Team Web Access, open or create a query that generates the results that you want to print.

  2. Use your Web browser print feature to print the current view.

To use Team Explorer to print the Query Results list

  1. In Team Explorer, open or create a query that generates the results that you want to print.

  2. Select the work item or work items that you want to print.

    You can select multiple work items by pressing the CTRL key and clicking more than one work item. Or, press CTRL+A keys to select all work items in the list.

  3. Open the File menu, and choose Print Print.

To print a work item from Team Explorer

  • Open the work item that you want to print, choose the File menu, and choose Print Print

To print the details of a group of work items from Team Explorer

  1. Open or create a query that generates the results that you want to print.

  2. Specify the work item or work items that you want to print.

    You can specify multiple work items by pressing the CTRL key and clicking more than one work item.

  3. Open the shortcut menu for the selected list and choose Print Selection as Details.

    This procedure prints the data of each work item that you select from the query results list, without opening any one of the work items.
