Allows configuration of the LAN booster service, which is an NT service for local area network (LAN) access to the Visual SourceSafe database. You can configure this service to improve source control performance for the SourceSafe LAN plug-in for Visual Studio. If you choose not to use the service, the plug-in can still access the database using standard network methods.
Dialog Box Access
In Visual SourceSafe Administrator, on the Server menu, click Configure.
- Enable LAN service for this computer
