Queries Events Event Category

The Queries Events event category has the event classes described in the following table.

Event Class Description

Query Begin

Collects all query begin events since the trace started.

Query End

Collects all query end events since the trace started.

Query Subcube

Collects all query subcube events since the trace started. A query subcube event occurs every time a query touches a distinct subcube inside the multidimensional space. For instance, every query that returns any non-calculated measure will generate a query subcube event. Also, if a cube has two or more measure groups and the query touches all of them, a query subcube event will occur at least once per measure group. A query subcube event occurs regardless of whether the query is answered from cache or from disk. The query subcube event is used for Usage Based Optimization. For more information, see Aggregations and Aggregation Designs.

For information about the columns associated with each of the Query Events event classes, see Queries Events Data Columns.
