Hosting Interfaces

This section describes the interfaces that unmanaged hosts can use to integrate the common language runtime (CLR) into their applications.

Important
The hosting interfaces that are supported for the CLR in the .NET Framework versions 1.0 and 1.1 are not supported in the .NET Framework version 2.0. Mixing and matching these interfaces could cause unexpected behavior. Because there are significant differences between the .NET Framework version 1 and version 2.0 hosting interfaces, the documentation is organized within two subsections.
