XmlTextReader Constructor (Stream, XmlNameTable)

Initializes a new instance of the XmlTextReader class with the specified stream and XmlNameTable.

Namespace:  System.Xml
Assembly:  System.Xml (in System.Xml.dll)
public XmlTextReader(
	Stream input,
	XmlNameTable nt
)

Parameters

input
Type: System.IO.Stream

The stream containing the XML data to read.

nt
Type: System.Xml.XmlNameTable

The XmlNameTable to use.

ExceptionCondition
NullReferenceException

The input or nt value is null.

NoteNote

In the .NET Framework 2.0 release, the recommended practice is to create XmlReader instances using the XmlReader.Create method. This allows you to take full advantage of the new features introduced in this release. For more information, see Creating XML Readers.

The XmlTextReader decodes the stream using System.Text.Encoding.

If you specify a name table, this constructor uses the names defined already in that table.
