LinkedList<T>::First Property

Gets the first node of the LinkedList<T>.

The first LinkedListNode<T> of the LinkedList<T>.

Remarks

LinkedList<T> accepts nullptr as a valid Value for reference types and allows duplicate values.

If the LinkedList<T> is empty, the First and Last properties contain nullptr.

Retrieving the value of this property is an O(1) operation.

Examples

The following code example and output demonstrate the First property. The code example inserts a node at the beginning of a linked list of nodes containing strings, uses the First property to mark the first element, then removes the element and adds it to the end of the list.
