Application domains, which are represented by System..::..AppDomain objects, help provide isolation, unloading, and security boundaries to execute managed code.
An ApplicationDomain object represents an application domain running managed Web applications in an IIS 7 worker process. The ApplicationDomain class provides access to a subset of the functionality exposed by the System..::..AppDomain class. For instance, System..::..AppDomain life-cycle events are not available for subscription through the ApplicationDomain class.
