SqlDataRecord.GetSqlMetaData Method

Returns a SqlMetaData object, describing the metadata of the column specified by the column ordinal.

Namespace:  Microsoft.SqlServer.Server
Assembly:  System.Data (in System.Data.dll)
public virtual SqlMetaData GetSqlMetaData(
	int ordinal
)

Parameters

ordinal
Type: System.Int32

The zero-based ordinal of the column.

Return Value

Type: Microsoft.SqlServer.Server.SqlMetaData
The column metadata as a SqlMetaData object.
ExceptionCondition
IndexOutOfRangeException

The ordinal is less than 0 or greater than the number of columns (that is, FieldCount).

InvalidCastException

There is a type mismatch.
