Remarks

A normal distribution is a bell-shaped continuous random distribution. The distribution is defined by its mean value and its standard distribution. The distribution is symmetric around the mean value. Variance is sometimes used instead of standard deviation to define a normal distribution; the variance is the square of the standard deviation.
