SPWebService.WorkItemEventDeliveryThrottle Property

Windows SharePoint Services 3

Gets or sets the rate at which SPWorkItem events will be processed by the farm.

Namespace:  Microsoft.SharePoint.Administration
Assembly:  Microsoft.SharePoint (in Microsoft.SharePoint.dll)

public int WorkItemEventDeliveryThrottle { get; set; }

Property Value

Type: System.Int32
Represents the number of SPWorkItem events to which to allocate CPU capacity per a specific unit of time.

ExceptionCondition
ArgumentOutOfRangeException

Value is less than zero.

This property is associated with the allocation of CPU, input-output devices, and memory resources available to the Web application, and is used in tuning processing capability.

There is a throttle limit which prevents Web front end performance decreases due to too many workflow instances. If more events than the limit are already being processed, then new events are queued as work items to be processed by a timer job. The threshold limit is farm configuration-dependent.

This object is persisted, and is given a nonzero value when the class is instantiated.
