ExecutionPolicyScope Enumeration

Defines where Windows PowerShell looks for the execution policy for the current shell. This enumeration is introduced in Windows PowerShell 2.0.

Member nameDescription
CurrentUserThe execution policy is retrieved from the HKEY_CURRENT_USER registry hive for the current shell. This field is introduced in Windows PowerShell 2.0.
LocalMachineThe execution policy is retrieved from the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE registry hive for the current shell. This field is introduced in Windows PowerShell 2.0.
MachinePolicyThe execution policy is retrieved from the group policy of the computer. This field is introduced in Windows PowerShell 2.0.
ProcessThe execution policy is retrieved from the PSExecutionPolicyPreference environment variable. This field is introduced in Windows PowerShell 2.0.
UserPolicyThe execution policy is retrieved from the group policy setting of the current user. This field is introduced in Windows PowerShell 2.0.
