ResourceIntensiveTask inherits from the base classes ScheduledTask and ScheduledAction. It allows applications to perform processing even when the main application is not in the foreground. This class is used for tasks that may not need to run on a regular schedule, but need to run for a longer period of time and use more device resources. Tasks that need to run more regularly should use the PeriodicTask, which runs more often, but is allowed to use only a small amount of device resources for a short period of time. For information about the schedules and limitations for these classes, see Background Agents Overview for Windows Phone.
