DemotedSite Class

Represents a demoted site for SharePoint Server search.

System.Object
  Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration.DemotedSite

Namespace:  Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.Administration
Assembly:  Microsoft.Office.Server.Search (in Microsoft.Office.Server.Search.dll)

[SharePointPermissionAttribute(SecurityAction.LinkDemand, ObjectModel = true)]
public sealed class DemotedSite

Demoted sites contain content that is less relevant in your environment, and therefore should be ranked lower than that of all other sites.

Use the DemotedSites() property of the Ranking class to get the collection of demoted sites for a Search service application.

Use an indexer to return a single authoritative page from the DemotedSiteCollection object. For example, assuming the collection is assigned to a variable named demotedSites, use demotedSites[index] in Microsoft Visual C# or demotedSites(index) in Microsoft Visual Basic, where index is the index number of the demoted site in the collection, or a System.Uri object representing the demoted site's URL.

To designate a site as a demoted site, use the Create method of the DemotedSiteCollection class.

To remove an demoted site, use the Delete method of the DemotedSite class.

Any public static (Shared in Visual Basic) members of this type are thread safe. Any instance members are not guaranteed to be thread safe.
