Returns Nothing (a null reference (Nothing in Visual Basic) in C#) if there is no logged-on session.

The Session property and the GetNamespace(String) method can be used interchangeably to obtain the NameSpace object for the current session. Both members serve the same purpose. For example, the following pairs of statements perform the same function:

    Application.GetNamespace("MAPI")

Dim objSession As Outlook.NameSpace = Application.Session

Outlook.NameSpace objNamespace =
