StringPrototype.search Method

Runs a search for the specified regular expression pattern on the specified object.

Parameters

thisob: Type: System.Object
The object that this method is acting upon.

engine: Type: Microsoft.JScript.Vsa.VsaEngine
A reference to the scripting engine.

regExp: Type: System.Object
The regular expression pattern to search for.

Return Value

Type: System.Int32
If the search is successful, the index of the match; otherwise, -1.
