RecognizerCapabilities Enumeration

Defines values that specify the attributes of a recognizer. Use this enumeration to determine which attributes to use when searching for an installed recognizer. This enumeration has a FlagsAttribute attribute that allows a bitwise combination of its member values.

Member nameDescription
DontCareIgnores all other flags that are set.
ObjectIf set, specifies the recognizer performs object recognition; otherwise, the recognizer performs text recognition.
FreeInputSpecifies the recognizer supports free input. ink is entered without the use of a recognition guide, such as lines or boxes.
LinedInputSpecifies the recognizer supports lined input, which is similar to writing on lined paper.
BoxedInputSpecifies the recognizer supports boxed input, in which each character or word is entered in a box.
CharacterAutoCompletionInputSpecifies the recognizer supports character Autocomplete. Recognizers that support character Autocomplete require boxed input.
RightAndDownSpecifies the recognizer supports western and Asian languages.
LeftAndDownSpecifies that the recognizer supports Hebrew and Arabic languages.
DownAndLeftSpecifies the recognizer supports Asian languages.
DownAndRightSpecifies the recognizer supports the Chinese language.
ArbitraryAngleSpecifies the recognizer supports text is written at arbitrary angles.
LatticeSpecifies the recognizer can return a lattice object.
AdviseInkChangeSpecifies that the recognizer's background recogition can be interrupted, as in when the ink has changed.
StrokeReorderSpecifies that stroke order — spatial and temporal — is handled.
PersonalizableSpecifies that the recognizer supports personalization.
