How to: Set Up Purchase Parameters
Microsoft Dynamics NAV lets you to set up various purchase parameters that help you easily enter invoices and credit memos.
To set up purchase parameters
In the Search box, enter Purchases & Payables Setup, and then choose the related link.
On the General FastTab, select the Show Totals on Purch. Inv./CM. field to display the balance at the bottom of the purchase invoice or credit memo. If this check box is cleared, the balance will be calculated, but it will not be displayed at the bottom of the purchase invoice or credit memo.
On the Std. Vendor Purchase Codes FastTab, specify how general ledger accounts are to be inserted in the purchase lines. Choose Manual to insert the code manually. Choose Automatic when there is one valid standard vendor purchase code for the vendor, and you want to automatically insert the scheme in the purchase lines. If there is more than one valid code, you will receive an overview of the valid codes and you must select the code manually. Choose Always Ask if you want to specify each time how general ledger accounts are to be inserted in the purchase lines.
Specify where you want to use the standard vendor purchase codes. You may use the codes in quotes, orders, invoices, and credit memos.
