Document Object Model (DOM) Events

This section describes event objects and properties, including those described in Document Object Model (DOM) Level 3 Events.

Windows Internet Explorer and Windows Store apps support events defined by a number of specifications, including (but are not limited to) the following standards:

This section describes events defined in these standards and shared by others. The implementation of these specifications by Internet Explorer and Windows Store apps depends, in part, on the state of the specification at the time of release. Because specifications can (and frequently do) change before they are finalized, refer to the current version of each specification for the latest information.

Some specifications define events that are meant to be used only by the features within in the specification, such as Animation Timing, IndexedDB, File API, and so on. For information on those events, see the documentation corresponding to the specification.
