Trial Balance Report

Shows the chart of accounts that have balances and net changes. For example, you can choose to see a trial balance for selected departments or projects. The report can be used at the close of an accounting period or fiscal year.

Options

Field Description

Show Comparison

Select to include figures either from the prior year or for the defined budget.

Actual Changes

Select to include a column that shows the actual net change.

Comparison Changes

Select if you want to include the net change for the period.

Variance in Changes

Select to include a column that shows the change variance. The variance is calculated by subtracting the budget or prior year amounts over the period defined from the actual amounts.

% Variance in Changes

Select to include a column that shows the percentage of variance change. The variance is calculated by dividing the variance by the actual amounts.

Actual Balances

Select to include a column that shows the actual balance.

Comparison Balances

Select if you want to include the balance from the selected period.

Variance in Balances

Select to include a column that shows the variance balance. The variance is calculated by subtracting the budget or prior year amounts over the period defined from the actual amounts.

% Variance in Balances

Select to include a column that shows the percentage of variance in balances. The variance is calculated by dividing the variance by the actual amounts.

Round to

Select if you want the results in the report to be rounded to the nearest penny (hundredth of a unit), dollar (unit), or thousand dollars (units). The results are in US dollars, unless Use Additional Reporting Currency is selected.

If you there are more than six report columns in the Trial Balance report, you must round to either dollars or thousands.

Skip Accounts with all zero Amounts

Select if you do not want to include accounts that have all zeros in the report. Otherwise, these accounts are included. (Heading accounts and total accounts are always included.)

Use Additional Reporting Currency

Select to print actual amounts using the additional reporting currency. If this field is not selected, all actual amounts will be printed in U.S. dollars.

Print to Excel

Select if you want to export the data to a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for additional analysis or formatting before printing.
