The camera frustum is a clipped 3D pyramidal shaped volume that shows the physical space visible to the Kinect. The point of the pyramid represents the position of the sensor array. The clipped top of the pyramid represents the front clipping plane and the gray base of the pyramid represents the maximum distance of the depth sensor. There are two pyramids; the red one corresponds to default mode and the green one corresponds to near mode.

The cube in the top-right corner of the viewer shows the current direction of the coordinate axes in relation to the viewing angle, where positive X is to the left, positive Y is up, and positive Z is away from the sensor array. The cube will rotate as you rotate the view around the center point.
