iSCSI Software Target API
Purpose
The iSCSI Software Target API provides a WMI interface for managing the Microsoft iSCSI Software Target, such as creating virtual disks and presenting them to the client.
Developer audience
The iSCSI Software Target API is designed for WMI developers who use C/C++, the Microsoft Visual Basic application, or a scripting language that has an engine on Windows and handles Microsoft ActiveX objects. Familiarity with COM programming is helpful but not required. For more information about WMI, see Windows Management Instrumentation.
Run-time requirements
The iSCSI Software Target API is included in Windows Server operating systems beginning with Windows Server 2012.
