PostFollow (follow) entity messages and methods

Applies To: CRM 2015 on-prem, CRM Online

A post follow (follow) represents that a user followed an object.

The maximum number of records you can follow is 500.

If you create the PostFollow record for the account A and set the OwnerId on the PostFollow to the user B, then the user B follows the account A.

The early bound class for this entity is PostFollow. To view the entity metadata for your organization, install the Metadata Browser solution described in Browse the metadata for your organization. You can also view the metadata for an uncustomized organization in the Excel file called EntityMetadata.xlsx included in the top-level folder of the SDK download.

The following table describes the messages for this entity, which you use with the IOrganizationService.Execute method.

Message Description

Creates a post follow. You can also call the IOrganizationService.Create method.

A caller with the prvCreatePostFollow privilege and Basic access level (privilege depth) can create the PostFollow records to follow themselves. You must have the prvCreatePostFollow privilege and the prvAppendPostFollow privilege with the Local or Deep access level to follow other records.

Deletes a post follow. When you delete the PostFollow record, you perform an action of “unfollow” the record. You can also call the IOrganizationService.Delete method.

Retrieves a post follow. You can also call the IOrganizationService.Retrieve method.

Retrieves a collection of post follows. You can also call the IOrganizationService.RetrieveMultiple method.
