SQL Server Standards Support
The SQL Server Standards Support documentation provides detailed support information for certain standards that are implemented in Microsoft SQL Server.
Audience
This documentation is intended for use in conjunction with publicly available standard specifications. It assumes that the reader either is familiar with this material or has access to it. The documentation provides the following levels of audience support:

Implementer: Conceptual and reference information to implement an interoperable solution using one or more specifications for a given task or scenario.

Reviewer: A resource for readers who want to evaluate or understand the Microsoft implementation of these specifications.
The SQL Server Standards Support documentation is also available here for download in a .zip file.

Microsoft makes these technical specifications available to view and download at no charge and without restriction. Many of the specifications, however, include patented inventions.
