IMessageDispatcher interface

Callback interface implemented by components that need to perform special processing of window messages on an ASTA thread.

When to implement

Implement in order to register and receive callbacks as described in CoSetMessageDispatcher. This should be implemented only by:

  • CoreWindow
  • UI framework, for authoring mode scenarios in which CoreWindow support is not available
  • Windows Store app browsers with special window message processing requirements, and which do not intend to use the CoreWindow dispatcher


The IMessageDispatcher interface inherits from the IUnknown interface. IMessageDispatcher also has these types of members:

Performs custom dispatching when window messages are available to be dispatched on an ASTA thread.
