Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 Privacy Statement

This privacy statement explains many of the data collection and use practices of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2013 R2 ("Microsoft Dynamics NAV"). It focuses on features that communicate with the Internet. Some Microsoft services may send periodic member letters that are considered part of the service. In order to offer you a more consistent and personalised experience in your interactions with Microsoft, information collected through one Microsoft service may be combined with information obtained through other Microsoft services. We may also supplement the information we collect with information obtained from other companies. For example, we may use services from other companies that enable us to derive a general geographic area based on your IP address in order to customise certain services to your geographic area.
In order to access certain Microsoft Dynamics NAV online services, you will be asked to enter an email address and password, which we refer to as your Windows Live™ ID. After you have created your Windows Live ID, you can use the same credentials to sign in to many different Microsoft sites and services, as well as those of select Microsoft partners that display the Windows Live ID logo. By signing in to one Microsoft site or service, you may be automatically signed in when you visit other Microsoft sites and services. Except as described in this statement, personal information you provide will not be transferred to third parties without your consent. We occasionally hire other companies to provide limited services on our behalf, such as packaging, sending and delivering purchases and other mailings, answering customer questions about products or services, processing event registration, or performing statistical analysis of our services. We will only provide those companies the personal information they need to deliver the service, and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose.
Microsoft may access or disclose information about you, including the content of your communications, in order to: (a) comply with the law or respond to lawful requests or legal process; (b) protect the rights or property of Microsoft or our customers, including the enforcement of our agreements or policies governing your use of the services; or (c) act on a good faith belief that such access or disclosure is necessary to protect the personal safety of Microsoft employees, customers or the public. Information that is collected by or sent to Microsoft by Microsoft Dynamics NAV may be stored and processed in the United States or any other country in which Microsoft or its affiliates, subsidiaries or service providers maintain facilities. Collection and Use of Information about Your Computer
When you use software with Internet-enabled features, information about your computer ("standard computer information") is sent to the websites that you visit and online services that you use. Microsoft uses standard computer information to provide you with Internet-enabled services, to help improve our products and services, and for statistical analysis. Standard computer information typically includes information such as your IP address, operating system version, browser version, and regional and language settings. In some cases, standard computer information may also include hardware ID, which indicates the device manufacturer, device name, and version. If a particular feature or service sends information to Microsoft, standard computer information will be sent as well.

Customer Experience Improvement Programme
What This Feature Does:
The Customer Experience Improvement Program ("CEIP") collects basic information about your hardware configuration and how you use our software and services in order to identify trends and usage patterns. CEIP also collects the type and number of errors that you encounter, software and hardware performance and the speed of services. We will not collect your name, address or other contact information.

Use of Information:
We use this information to improve the quality, reliability and performance of Microsoft software and services.
Choice/Control:
By default, participation in CEIP is disabled. You can enable CEIP in the Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server Administration tool. If you choose to participate and later change your mind, you can turn off CEIP at any time with the following procedure:
On the computer running Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server, choose Start, and in the search box, enter Microsoft Dynamics NAV Administration and then press Enter.
Select the server instance for which you want to turn off CEIP.
Choose the Edit button, and then clear the Send Feedback check box.
Choose the Save button.
Microsoft Error Reporting
What This Feature Does:
Microsoft Error Reporting provides a service that allows you to report problems you may be having with Microsoft Dynamics NAV to Microsoft and to receive information that may help you avoid or solve such problems.

Use of Information:
We use the error reporting data to solve customer problems and improve our software and services.
Choice/Control:
You will be offered the opportunity to participate in Microsoft Error Reporting when an error occurs. When you choose to enable it, Microsoft Error Reporting will automatically report problems you encounter to Microsoft. When Microsoft needs additional data to analyse the problem, you will be prompted to review the data and choose whether to send it.
Enterprise customers can use Group Policy to configure how Microsoft Error Reporting behaves on their computers. Configuration options include the ability to turn off Microsoft Error Reporting. If you are an administrator and want to configure Group Policy for Microsoft Error Reporting, technical details are available at the Windows Server Group Policy TechCentre at https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=235490.
Help
What This Feature Does:
You can choose to send email feedback on Help topics by using the feedback link at the bottom of each Help topic.
Information Collected, Processed, or Transmitted:
When you send email feedback to Microsoft, your email address and any additional information that you choose to provide about the Help topics that are presented to you will be included. Microsoft may collect your email address to contact you to investigate your feedback further. Your email address will be removed from our systems after 90 days.
Use of Information:
We use your feedback to improve the Help content.
Choice/Control:
You can control the information that you send to Microsoft by not sending email messages that are generated with the feedback link.
Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web Client
What This Feature Does:
The Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web client can be enabled to connect with Microsoft Dynamics NAV. Microsoft Dynamics NAV Web client may use cookies to enable you to sign in to Microsoft Dynamics NAV or to help personalise Microsoft Dynamics NAV. A cookie is a small text file that is placed on your hard disk by Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server. Cookies cannot be used to run programs or deliver viruses to your computer.
Information Collected, Processed, or Transmitted:
Cookies contain information that can later be read by Microsoft Dynamics NAV Server in the domain that issued the cookie to you.
Use of Information:
One of the primary purposes of cookies is to provide a convenience feature to save you time. For example, if you personalise a web page or navigate within a site, a cookie helps the site to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. This simplifies the process of delivering relevant content, eases site navigation and so on. When you return to the website, the information that you previously provided can be retrieved, so you can easily use the site's features that you customised.
Choice/Control:
You have the ability to accept or decline cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline cookies if you prefer. If you are using Internet Explorer, search for Cookies" in the Help menu to find detailed instructions. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to use interactive features of this or other websites that depend on cookies.
Connect for Microsoft Dynamics ERP
What This Feature Does:
Connect for Microsoft Dynamics ERP ("Connect") is an Internet-based service that provides you with links to information on the CustomerSource and Microsoft Dynamics community sites. These links are related to your role and are linked to documentation, Knowledge Base articles, blog posts, and forum posts.
Information Collected, Processed, or Transmitted:
Connect collects information from Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015, such as the version and locale of Microsoft Dynamics NAV that you use, your role and your installation’s serial number. In addition, if you log in with your CustomerSource account, information is collected from your Microsoft Dynamics account to help personalise your use of Connect.
Use of Information:
Connect provides you information that is personalised to your role and Microsoft Dynamics installation. In addition, if you log in with your Windows Live ID that is tied to your Microsoft Dynamics account, Connect will provide you with information that is personalised to your account.
Choice/Control:
If you have logged in, then you can log out from your Windows Live ID account to stop receiving personalised information. You can also remove this part from the RoleTailored client. In the Connect Online part, choose the Actions menu, and then choose Remove.
Online Map
What This Feature Does:
The Online Map feature sends an address from Microsoft Dynamics NAV and opens that address on a map in a web browser. You can also specify directions to and from that address from your company or from other addresses.
Information Collected, Processed, or Transmitted:
Any addresses that you specify, the default unit of measure and the default route choice are sent to the online map service.
Use of Information:
Information is sent to the web mapping service, which you can set up when you configure Microsoft Dynamics NAV. The information is then persisted in your web browser according to your web browser privacy settings, and information may be persisted in the web mapping service.
Choice/Control:
You can change the online map service in the Online Map Setup window. Administrators can also disable the Online Map feature for some or all users.
