Welcome to the documentation for the System Center 2012 – Operations Manager Software Development Kit (SDK). This documentation explains how to migrate your code from the Operations Manager 2007 R2 SDK to the System Center 2012 – Operations Manager SDK, and it explains how to automate and extend Operations Manager features. This documentation also contains code examples that demonstrate how to write applications that access and modify Operations Manager data.

Before you use the Operations Manager SDK, it is useful to understand key concepts in Operations Manager. For more information, see Operations Manager Key Concepts. Also, the Operations Manager SDK components are described in the System Center 2012 - Operations Manager SDK Architecture Overview.

For more information on when to use the Operations Manager SDK and for other options for automating System Center 2012 Operations Manager, see System Center 2012 Integration Guide – Operations Manager.
