User Interface Reference (MySQL to SQL)

This section includes Help topics for SQL Server Migration Assistant (SSMA) for MySQL.

The following table lists the SSMA dialog boxes:

Description

Advanced Object Selection

Use the Advanced Object Select dialog box to find database objects by using filter criteria, and then select or clear those objects.

Assessment Report (MySQLToSQL)

Use the Report to view the results of the conversion of MySQL objects to Transact-SQL syntax, and to estimate the time and complexity of a migration to SQL Server.

Connect to MySQL (MySQL to SQL)

Use the Connect to MySQL dialog box to connect to the MySQL database that you want to migrate.

Connect to the SQL Server

Use the Connect to SQL Server dialog box to connect to the instance of SQL Server to which you want to migrate.

Connect to SQL Azure

Use the Connect to SQL Azure dialog box to connect to the instance of SQL Azure to which you want to migrate.

Conversion Settings (MySQL)

Use the Settings tab to set node level settings.

Customer Feedback Options

Use the Customer Feedback Options dialog box to control if SSMA sends usage data.

Data Migration Report

Displays the results of migrating data from MySQL to SQL Server or SQL Azure.

Data Migration Settings

Use the Extended Data Migration Settings tab to write custom queries for data migration.

Edit Type Mapping (MySQLToSQL)

Use the Edit Type Mapping dialog box to create or modify the mapping of data types between the source and target databases and database objects.

Global Settings (Editor)

Use the Editor page of the Global Settings dialog box to configure code editor options.

Global Settings (Dialogs)

Use the Dialogs page of the Global Settings dialog box to configure default dialog box and warning settings.

Global Settings (Logging)

Use the Logging page of the Global Settings dialog box to configure logging.

Global Settings (Output Window)

Use the Global Settings dialog box to set preferences for the SSMA for MySQL user interface.

New Project (SSMA) (MySQL to SQL)

Use the New Project dialog box to create a new SSMA for MySQL project.

Project Settings (Conversion) (MySQL to SQL)

Use the Conversion page of the Project Settings dialog box to specify how SSMA for MySQL converts functions and global variables.

Project Settings (GUI)

Use the GUI page of the Project Settings dialog box to specify how much data appears on the Data tab.

Project Settings (Synchronization) (MySQLToSQL)

Use the Migration page of the Project Settings dialog box to customize how SSMA for MySQL migrates data from MySQL to SQL Server.

Project Settings (Migration) (MySQL to SQL)

Use the Synchronization page of the Project Settings dialog box to customize how SSMA for MySQL creates or alters migrated database objects in SQL Server.

Project Settings (SQL Azure)

Use the SQL Azure page of the Project Settings dialog box to customize the connectivity settings to migrate the data from MySQL to SQL Azure.

Project Settings (Type Mapping) (MySQL to SQL)

Use the Type Mapping page of the Project Settings dialog box to specify the default type mappings for all databases and database objects in the SSMA for MySQL project.

Refresh from database (MySQLToSQL)

Use the Refresh from Database dialog box to select objects to refresh from the MySQL database.

Save Metadata

The Save Metadata dialog box appears when you save a project that is missing metadata.
