Map Line Properties Dialog Box, General

Select General on the Map Line Properties dialog box to change label and tooltip options for dynamic or embedded lines on a line layer. Color rules and width rules for lines override these options.

To override options for a specific embedded line, use the Map Embedded Line Properties Dialog Box, General page.

Options

  • Label text
    Type text or an expression that displays as the line label.

  • Placement
    Select a value or type an expression that represents the placement of the labels.

    • Above   Display the labels above the line.

    • Below   Display the labels below the line.

    • Center   Display the labels at the center of the line.

  • Tooltip
    Type a label or expression for the tooltip to be displayed when the mouse is hovered over a line.
  • Line width
    Specify the line width. By default, the value is 3.75pt.
