Sockets for Windows Phone
Windows Phone
March 23, 2012
Windows Phone OS 7.1 includes new APIs that enable sockets-based communication. This is useful for developers who need to tightly control access on the network or who want to write applications that act as a client with existing TCP services. Sockets allow two-way communication with cloud services, and enable scenarios such as instant messaging and multi-player gaming.
There are completed sockets applications available as downloads. For more information, see Code Samples for Windows Phone.
