Managed Client Object Models in SharePoint Foundation 2010

Applies to: SharePoint Foundation 2010

The managed client object models in Microsoft SharePoint Foundation 2010 include Microsoft Silverlight and a managed distributable package for desktop applications. The client object models enable you to build rich applications for either the desktop or the web that access SharePoint Foundation 2010 data. The client object models have synchronous and asynchronous APIs used to bring in data. The APIs necessary for the client object models are distributed through a download or stored in the .xap file of a Silverlight application. For more information about distributing the client APIs, see Client Object Model Distribution and Deployment.
