Creating a Bing Maps Account

Follow these steps to create a Bing Maps Account.

1. Go to the Bing Maps Account Center at https://www.bingmapsportal.com and click the Create button in the New User box.
   
   
2. Sign in using your Windows Live ID. If you do not have a Windows Live ID, you can get one at https://www.bingmapsportal.com/SignIn/Logon.
   
   

   Note:
   If you need to change the Windows Live ID that you use to login to the Bing Maps Account Center, see Updating your Bing Maps Account.

3. After you sign in, provide the following information:
   
   
   • Account name Required. A friendly name that you and Microsoft can use to identify your account.
     
     
   • Contact name The name of the account owner or someone that can be contacted when questions about this account arise.
     
     
   • Company name The name of the company using this account.
     
     
   • Email address Required. A contact email address for this account. This address can be the Windows Live ID used to login to the Bing Maps Account Center.
     
     
     • To add an additional contact, click Add/Delete Additional Contacts and provide a Contact Name and Email Address. You may want to add an email alias that notifies multiple people or a contact that is different from a person developing the application.
       
       
   • Phone number A contact phone number for this this account.
     
     
   • Bing Maps API terms of use Required. Review the terms of use and check the box to accept them.
     
     
4. After you enter the required information and click Save, your account details display.

Tip:
You can update your Bing Maps Account information any time by clicking Update or view account details.
