Supported Combinations of SharePoint and Reporting Services Components

SQL Server 2012

Reporting Services report servers can be installed in SharePoint mode and integrated with a SharePoint deployment. The integration is facilitated by the combination of the following:

  • A version of a Reporting Services report server configured for SharePoint mode.

  • A SharePoint product.

  • The Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint products, which you install on the SharePoint servers.

Not all features are supported in all combinations of report server, Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint, and SharePoint Products.

The following list summarizes recommendations for Reporting Services integration with SharePoint:

  • For SharePoint 2013, you can ONLY use the SQL Server 2012 SP1 version of the Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint.

  • For SharePoint 2010, you can use either the SQL Server 2012 or the SQL Server 2008 R2 versions of the Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint 2010 products. However, if you use theSQL Server 2012 SP1 version of the add-in, then you must also use a SQL Server 2012 SP1 report server.

  • For SharePoint 2007, always use the SQL Server 2008 Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint 2007.

  • SQL Server 2008 R2 report servers are supported with both SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010.

  • SQL Server 2008 SP1 CU #8 and higher report servers are supported with SharePoint 2007 and SharePoint 2010.

  • SQL Server 2008 report servers are supported with SharePoint 2007.

The following table summarizes the supported combinations of report server, the Reporting Services add-in for SharePoint products, and SharePoint products.
