Extend Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Outlook

[Applies to: Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online]

In Microsoft Dynamics CRM 2011 and Microsoft Dynamics CRM Online, Microsoft Dynamics CRM for Microsoft Office Outlook with Offline Access lets users interact with data while they are offline and not connected to a server. Microsoft Dynamics CRM includes features that let you extend your solutions to offline scenarios by accessing the Web services offline. In addition, the Microsoft.Crm.Outlook.Sdk assembly provides programmatic support for basic Microsoft Outlook actions such as synchronization, go offline or online, and Microsoft Outlook client state verification. Offline programming uses the Microsoft ASP.NET Cassini Web Server.

This version of Microsoft Dynamics CRM includes new features that allow administrators to customize and manage filters for their users. Filter templates provide the starting point for entity synchronization on Microsoft Outlook clients. Filters determine which entity collections are synchronized to Microsoft Outlook and to Microsoft SQL Server 2008 Express Edition for offline-enabled Microsoft Dynamics CRM clients.
