TimeZoneDefinition entity messages and methods

The Time Zone entity stores basic information about each supported time zone, including the time zone code and the standard time zone name. This information is read-only. The schema name for this entity is TimeZoneDefinition. To view the entity metadata for your organization, install the Metadata Browser solution described in Browse the metadata for your organization. You can also view the metadata for an uncustomized organization in the Excel file called EntityMetadata.xlsx included in the tools folder of the SDK download.

The following table describes the messages for this entity, which you use with the IOrganizationService.Execute method.


Message Description


Retrieves all the time-zone definitions for the specified locale, returning only the display name attribute.


Retrieves the time-zone code for the specified localized time-zone name.


Retrieves the local time for the specified Universal Time Coordinate (UTC) time.


Retrieves localized labels for the TimeZoneDefinition.UserInterfaceName and TimeZoneDefinition.StandardName attributes.


Retrieves a time zone definition. You can also call the IOrganizationService.Retrieve method.


Retrieves a collection of time zone definitions. You can also call the IOrganizationService.RetrieveMultiple method.


Sets localized labels for the TimeZoneDefinition.UserInterfaceName and TimeZoneDefinition.StandardName attributes.


Retrieves the UTC time for the specified local time.
