Messenger Web Toolkit and Messenger Connect

Ff752072.note(en-us,MSDN.10).gifNote:
Current information about Live Connect is now available in the Windows Live Developer Center. The information in the following sections is provided for legacy purposes only.

Before the release of Windows Live Messenger Connect, developers used the Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit to integrate their applications with Windows Live Messenger. The Messenger Web Toolkit included a set of user interface (UI) controls and JavaScript classes that enabled applications to access Messenger-related features, such as contact relationships and user profile information.

The Messenger Connect SDK provides much of the same functionality that was available in the Messenger Web Toolkit and new features that are available only through the Messenger Connect SDK.

This section discusses the following topics.

New Messenger Web Toolkit Features

Provides an overview of the new Messenger-related features

Changes to User Consent with Messenger Connect

Migrating to Messenger Connect

To access earlier Messenger Web Toolkit documentation, see Windows Live Messenger Web Toolkit.
