The JavaScript Library for Windows Live Messenger Connect is built by using the Microsoft Ajax Library. Microsoft Ajax exposes a type system that enables you to add object-oriented capabilities to your JavaScript code. To learn more about creating, instantiating, and deriving from classes, see Creating Custom Client Script by Using the Microsoft Ajax Library.

Microsoft.Live.Core.Namespace = function();

Type.registerClass(
    'Microsoft.Live.Core.Namespace');

The Microsoft.Live.Core.Namespace.using method is the only method in the Namespace class. The using method enables you to use an alias to reference a namespace, which allows for compact code statements.

The following code example demonstrates how to use the using method of the Namespace class.

            Microsoft.Live.Core.Namespace.using("wl:Microsoft.Live");
            dataContext = wl.App.get_dataContext();

To promote classes from the Microsoft.Live.Core namespace to the global namespace, use the following statement.

            Microsoft.Live.Core.Namespace.using("Microsoft.Live.Core");
            var uri = new Uri("http://www.contoso.com/");
