Editors

List the names of programs associated with the selected file name extension and file type. Expression Web uses these settings to determine which program to search for and open when you open a file of the selected type from within Expression Web. The first program in the list is the first program that Expression Web searches for when opening a file. If that program cannot be found, Expression Web searches for the next program, and so on. By changing the order of programs in the list, you can specify the order in which you want Expression Web to search. These settings apply only to Expression Web. They do not change your Microsoft Windows settings.

If Expression Web is the default editor for a file type but fails to load a file of that type, Expression Web will try to open the file in the next editor in the list.

  • To associate a program that doesn't appear in the Editors list with the selected file extension   Click Ff724060.3d75eec2-5fe1-4227-b290-98a9567d1206(en-us,Expression.40).png.

  • To delete an associated editor   Select an item from the Editors list, and then click Ff724060.b826f0ed-8d74-4c28-9357-07585e57f9e9(en-us,Expression.40).png.
