This section describes how to use the Caching Application Block to develop applications. First, it explains how to configure the application block, incorporate it into your solution, and select a backing store. Next, in Key Scenarios, it describes how to use the application block in particular scenarios, such as adding an item to the cache and removing items from the cache.

All application blocks ship as source code. Therefore, you must compile them before you can use the QuickStarts and configuration tools. To learn how to compile the Enterprise Library source code, see Building the Enterprise Library.
