Certificate installer

Overview

This tool will populate one or more certificates into the Trusted Root CA certificate store and the Trusted Publisher certificate store on the local computer.

Details

This tool uses certmgr.exe to populate one or more certificates into the Trusted Root CA certificate store and the Trusted Publisher certificate store on the local computer.

Each certificate must be in a unique .cer file and all of the .cer files must reside in the same directory as the tool.

Use of the tool requires administrator privileges on the machine and in Vista, you must run elevated.

This tool can be run using a Library job in DTM called "Add Certificates to Certificate Store".

Software Requirements

The test tool requires the following software:

  • Supported operating system (see list above)

  • Software components included with the device that is being tested

Hardware Requirements

The test tool requires the following hardware:

  • Device to be tested

  • Computer that meets the minimum software requirements

  • Windows keyboard

  • Two-button pointing device

  • Color display monitor capable of at least 1024 by 768 resolution, 32-bits per pixel, 60 Hz

  • Hard drive with a minimum of 20 GB available on partition C:

Running Certificate installer

To use the tool in DTM:

Copy one or more .cer files to the machine your DTM controller is installed on, into the directory:

\Program FIles\Microsoft Driver Test Manager\Tests\x86fre\nttest\certs

For use client machine that you need the certificates installed on, run the Library job called "Add Certificates to Certificate Store".
