a.   The standard states that the contents of the ST_Coordinate simple type can be at least -27273042329600 and at most 27273042316900.

Word and PowerPoint restrict the contents of this simple type to be at least -2147483648 and at most 2147483647.

b.   The standard states that ST_Coordinate is read and written as either a length followed by a unit, or EMUs with no unit present.

Office will read either a length followed by a unit or EMUs with no unit present, but will write only EMUs when no units are present.
