2.1.577 Part 1 Section 18.2.28, workbookPr (Workbook Properties)

a. The standard states that allowRefreshQuery is a valid attribute on this element.

Excel does not support this attribute on this element.

b. The standard does not specify a default value for the defaultThemeVersion attribute.

Excel uses a default value of 0, which indicates that no default theme applies in the workbook, for this attribute.

c. The standard describes the codeName attribute as specifying the codename of the application that created the workbook.

Office uses the codeName attribute to specify the name of the Workbook object as to be used in a scripting application.

d. The standard states that the values of the codeName attribute are defined by the XML Schema string datatype.

Excel requires this attribute to be at most 31 characters, with the following pattern restriction: [\p{L}\P{IsBasicLatin}][_\d\p{L}\P{IsBasicLatin}]*.

e. The standard specifies a value of 1 or true for @hidePivotFieldList indicates the field list is shown.

Office treats that a value of 1 or true to indicate the field list is hidden, and a value of 0 or false otherwise.

f. The standard does not specify the meaning of possible values for the attribute refreshAllConnections.

Office treats a value of 1 or true for @refreshAllConnections to indicate all connections shall be refreshed, and 0 or false otherwise.

g. The standard states that the dateCompatibility attribute determines whether the date base should be treated as a compatibility date base or should support the full date range of[ISO-8601].

Office ignores the dateCompatibility attribute, and always uses a compatibility date base.

This note applies to the following products: O14, O14 Server, O14 SP1.

h. The standard states that the filterPrivacy attribute is used to warn the user when PII is added to a document.

In Office, the filterPrivacy attribute is used to determine if PII is removed or not removed from the workbook when it is saved.

i. The standard implies that the implementing application should draw a border around unselected tables if @showBorderUnselectedTables is set to true.

Office does not draw the border around tables regardless of the value of showBorderUnselectedTables.

j. The standard states that the dateCompatibility attribute determines whether the date base should be treated as a compatibility date base or should support the full date range of[ISO-8601].

Office ignores the dateCompatibility attribute. If workbook@conformance equals "strict", the 1900 date system is used. Otherwise the 1900 compatibility date system is used. Excel does not support negative serial numbers.

This note applies to the following products: O15 Strict Client, O15 Strict Server, O15 Transitional Client, O15 Transitional Server.
