Vwa.VwaControl.addHandler Method

Adds an event handler to the Visio Web Access Web Part.

var value = VwaControl.addHandler(String eventName, Function eventHandler)

eventName The name of the event for which to add a handler.

eventHandler The JavaScript function to call when eventName is raised.

Void Returns nothing.

The value of eventName must be one of the following:

  • diagramcomplete

  • diagramerror

  • shapemouseenter

  • shapemouseleave

  • shapeselectionchanged

If you pass a value that is not valid for eventName, the Visio Web Access Web Part returns an eventNotFound error.

The following example adds a handler to the Vwa.shapeselectionchanged event that creates either an HTML or a XAML transparent overlay on the selected shape, depending on the display mode.
