1.7 Versioning and Capability Negotiation

Neither the Digest Authentication Protocol nor the Digest Access Authentication: Microsoft Extensions have any versioning capability. The Digest Authentication Protocol does have support for negotiating what cryptographic algorithms to use. This is specified in [RFC2831] section 2.1.2.
