Adding a Non-Commerce Application to a Site

You can use Commerce Server Manager to add an application that does not use Commerce Server components. The purpose of adding a non-Commerce application is so you can make the Web server log files associated with the application available to the Data Warehouse for import.

To add a non-Commerce application to a site

  1. Expand Commerce Server Manager, expand Commerce Sites, and then expand the site you want to administer.
  2. Click Applications, right-click Applications, and then click Add Non-Commerce Application.
  3. In the New Non-Commerce Application dialog box, on the General tab, do the following:

    Web servers in this application are running IISSelect this option if the servers in the non-Commerce application are running Internet Information Services (IIS) 5.0.

    You cannot have both IIS and non-IIS servers in a non-Commerce application.

    Nonsecure host nameType the Domain Name System (DNS) domain name that non-secured links in the application use.

    • If you are using a port number other than 80, you must append that number to the end of the server name (for example, www.microsoft.com:81). To view or edit the port number, see the TCP Port box on the Identities tab in the Web Server Properties dialog box. For more information, see Configuring a Web Server.
    IIS application path or Application pathType the path to the application.
    Enable HTTPSSelect this property if secured links are used in the application.
    Secure host nameType the DNS domain name that secured links in the application use.

    • If you are using a port number other than 443, you must append that number to the end of the server name (for example, www.microsoft.com:441). To view or edit the SSL port number, see the SSL Port box on the Identities tab in the Web Server Properties dialog box. For more information, see Configuring a Web Server.
  4. On the Web Servers tab, do the following:

    IIS Web siteType the name of the IIS Web site (for example, Default Web Site).
    Local domainType the name of the local domain (for example, microsoft.com).
    Synchronize the log file name and locationClear this property so Log file directory on the Log Files tab in the Web Server Properties dialog box is not overwritten with the value in IIS. This box is selected by default.
  5. Click OK.
