Platform Update for Windows Vista (Windows)

Purpose

The Platform Update for Windows Vista and the Platform Update for Windows Server 2008 are end-user operating system updates that support the use of selected Windows 7 technologies on previous versions of the Windows operating system. The updates include a set of runtime libraries that enable application developers to target current releases, Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 as well as previous versions, Windows Vista and Windows Server 2008.

I had trouble getting the platform update to "pick up" also. But the advice given below is correct - if you're patient. I had just ran update, just installed Vista SP2, all that. System said I had no more updates needed AT ALL. But when I followed the instructions about go to Windows update, and tell it to "search for updates" sure enough, after a LONG time (5 minutes?) it came back with a list of 12+ "Important" updates! One was the Platform upgrade, and another was the "Supplement to Platform Upgrade" - so now they are installing and all seems to be going well.

I have been trying for 2 days to put windows platform onto my computer I just had to format and when I tried to get msn back it wouldn't let me it keeps saying get windows platform updates but there isn't any what is going on can someone please help me I have done everything that it tells me to do and still nothing

how i can download platform update

You can download Platform like this: Press that windows flag thing on down left. Then there is that -Search- Panel press it! The write "Windows Update" and then you will see that (Windows Update) press it and then "Search Updates" and then install all new updates!! That's how you get Platform for Vista and Windows 7 too i think! (I think i wroted something wrong because i dont have very good english :< but i hope you get what i want to say for you)
